There are seven fires considered out of control as of Monday morning on Vancouver Island and the Sunshine Coast after the weekend’s lightning storm.
BC Wildfire Services marked several new fires started by lightning strikes as under control and none of them spread significantly, most being about 90 square metres.
On the north island, there are still a couple out of control fires burning between 30 and 40 hectares that started before the storm.
