RDN asks for public input on East Wellington transportation plan

The Regional District of Nanaimo is asking residents for input as it develops an active transportation network plan for East Wellington and Pleasant Valley.

The plan will examine ways to improve infrastructure for walking, cycling and other forms of active travel, while strengthening links to regional and provincial routes.

Officials said the goal is to create safer connections between homes, schools, parks, businesses and services while supporting climate goals and healthier lifestyles.

Residents can provide feedback through an online survey, attend an open house or submit questions through the project page.

An open house on the draft plan will be held April 27 at Discover Montessori School from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
