Six Sunshine Coast charities will share a total of $220,000 to support their programs for the next two years.
According to the Sunshine Coast Foundation, the Sunshine Coast Prosperity Fund will give the grant money to the organization to support the critical work and long-term sustainability of the local organizations.
The six recipients of the money include One Straw Society, Pender Harbour and District Health Centre Society, Restorative Justice Program of the Sunshine Coast, Sunshine Coast Charitable Housing Society, and Sunshine Coast Hospice Society.
Foundation executive director Erin Storey says dispersing the funds to these six organizations will help secure and strengthen the region now and into the future.
“We’re deeply grateful to be a part of this funding opportunity through the government of BC,” she says. “It’s an honour to support such a diverse group of local organizations that work so hard to strengthen our Sunshine Coast community and create lasting prosperity.”
