Charges laid against man for break and enters in the Oceanside area

A man charged in connection with a Nanoose Bay burglary in December of 2024 now faces additional charges connected to five other break and enters in the Oceanside Area.

41-year-old Timothy Dafoe has been charged in connection with break-ins from October to December of 2024 at homes in Nanoose Bay, Parksville, French Creek, and Qualicum Beach.

The Oceanside RCMP says evidence obtained in witness statements and video surveillance resulted in the additional charges.

Sgt. Shane Worth of the Oceanside RCMP said break and enters are rare in the Oceanside area and thanks to witnesses reporting suspicious activity, they were able to lay charges.

“The alert residents and video surveillance allowed police to forward compelling evidence to Crown Counsel resulting in multiple charges.”
