Sunshine Coast RCMP said a 68-year-old man has been pronounced deceased after being found in the water.
RCMP were alerted of a boat with no passengers near Egmont channel on January 23 at around 10:30 a.m.
The Joint Rescue Coordination Centre and West Coast Marine units investigated, finding the man a short time later.
The BC Coroners service is looking into his death, but it is not believed to be suspicious.
The man’s family was notified, and his name will not be released by RCMP.
