Prolific offender found in one of three stolen Parksville trucks last week

A well-known person to Oceanside RCMP faces several charges.

Just after 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 23, RCMP received a report of a man falling over in the driver’s seat of a 2016 Ford F150 pickup truck at the Wembley Mall parking lot in Parksville.

RCMP arrived at the scene and determined the truck had been stolen earlier in the week from an underground parking garage in downtown Parksville.

The man was in the vehicle with a 36-year-old woman.

The police found knives, suspected drugs, and other property believed to have been taken from the underground garage incident from earlier in the week.

Sgt. Shane Worth of the Oceanside RCMP said it was a busy week relating to stolen trucks in the Oceanside area last week.

“Three pickup trucks were reported stolen and fortunately all have been recovered, and one suspect was arrested thanks to alert citizens reporting suspicious activity to the police.”

The two other trucks were stolen near Coombs and Cameron Lake earlier in the week, with the Coombs truck recovered near where it was stolen and the Cameron Lake truck recovered at a property in Whiskey Creek.

Those investigations are ongoing, and no arrests have been made in relation to the thefts.

Both were arrested and have each been charged with different charges.

23-year-old Gage Lindberg-Larsen appeared in court and has been charged with two counts of stolen property, one count of possession of stolen identification, and two counts of breach of probation.

Meanwhile the unidentified woman is not facing any charges relating to the stolen truck and appeared in court for an unrelated arrest warrant Friday morning.

Lindberg-Larsen remains in RCMP custody.
