To support a safer community the Town of Gibsons says they’re lowering speed limits on all roads approaching the five-corner intersection.
According to the town, the area represents the busiest pedestrian centre in Gibsons, and pulling the speed limit to a lower range will enhance safety for everyone in the area.
The speed limit will be reduced from 50 km/h to 30 km/h starting Feb. 10 and will affect roads in school zones, on Gibsons Way, on Gower Point Road, and on Marine Drive.
According to a release, the town says residents can prepare for these changes by being aware of signage and adjusting speed accordingly.
