Nanaimo RCMP say they’re investigating a hit-and-run which sent one man to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A 65-year old man was treated at the scene after he was struck by a vehicle heading south on Departure Bay Road on Jan. 22 around 6:00 p.m.
According to police, witnesses say the man was crossing the street in a marked crosswalk when he was hit, and the driver failed to remain at the scene of the accident.
Police closed the intersection for several hours for the investigation, and say they suspect the vehicle is a newer model dark-coloured SUV that has damage to the front right corner.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Nanaimo RCMP’s non-emergency line at 250-754-2345.
