ICON FM interviews Nanaimo Gabriola BC Green candidate Shirley Lambrecht

91.7 ICON Radio/My Coast Now is contacting all candidates in the Oct. 19 provincial election to ask their positions on the major issues facing island residents.  

Shirley Lambrecht is running for the BC Greens in Nanaimo Gabriola, and we asked her questions about housing, cost of living, healthcare and education.  

When it comes to healthcare, Lambrecht says making sure everyone has access to not just a family doctor, but all other services should be a top priority, and she will work to make sure access to mental health services is available.  

Lambrecht says she also knows people are struggling with the cost of living, and housing. She adds this needs to be addressed and everything from mental health and cost of living is linked to housing.  

He says housing and affordability are linked, which is why seniors and those who have disabilities and receive government assistance should be taken care of to get them the care they need.
