91.7 ICON Radio/My Coast Now is contacting all candidates in the Oct. 19 provincial election to ask their positions on the major issues facing island residents.Â
George Anderson is running for the BC NDP in Nanaimo Lantzville, and we asked him questions about housing, cost of living, healthcare and education.Â
When it comes to healthcare, Anderson says he is passionate about making sure everyone has access to family medicine and making sure everyone in the riding has a robust medical system they can rely on, along with a family doctor.Â
Anderson says he also knows people are struggling with the cost of living, and this is apparent across the province and country. Â
He says housing and affordability are linked, and keeping current programs in place will help remove red tape and make sure more homes are built, therefore increasing the supply and helping to lower costs.Â
Here is the whole interview.Â
