ICON FM interviews Nanaimo Gabriola incumbent Sheila Malcolmson

91.7 ICON Radio/My Coast Now is contacting all candidates in the Oct. 19 provincial election to ask their positions on the major issues facing island residents. 

Incumbent Sheila Malcolmson is running for the BC NDP in Nanaimo Gabriola, and we asked her questions around housing, cost of living, healthcare and education. 

When it comes to healthcare, Malcolmson believes creating a system where everyone is included and putting an end to hallway medicine would be beneficial. She also says having more services, and investing more is going to help residents in the riding. 

Malcolmson says she knows housing and cost of living are linked, but states providing more affordable housing will help lower costs and if re-elected the government would make more investments to make sure everyone has access to a home.
