Transient man’s death treated as homicide, Nanaimo RCMP

The RCMP Serious Crime Unit has been activated and police say they’re investigating the death of a 42-year-old man after his body was found earlier this month.

Lee Harland’s body was located near a woody area, by railway tracks near Kennedy Street, and Comox Road, in Nanaimo and police say based on the evidence the investigation is being treated as a homicide.

They say Harland appeared to be living in Nanaimo for a while, and he was living a transient lifestyle while living in homeless encampments across the city.
