Some new homes are on the way for seniors in Bowser as part of the Community Housing Fund.
The 22 homes will offer a mix of rentals, some with rates tied to income and some offered at market rates.
It’s called Lighthouse Villa and Mid Island-Pacific Rim MLA Josie Osbourne says the project has hit a major milestone and that shovels can soon be out in the ground.
“Lighthouse Villa is a literal beacon of hope for seniors and for small rural comminutes that need affordable housing just as much as larger centers,” said Osbourne.
She adds that they aim to have the homes ready for move-in next year.
