Dean McKinley has announced he is resigning as the Chief Administrative Officer of the Sunshine Coast Regional District, effective Friday.
McKinley says he’s enjoyed his time serving the SCRD board and the residents of the Sunshine Coast.
“I have enjoyed working closely with the shíshálh Nation, the Town of Gibsons and the District of Sechelt and I value tremendously the strength of the relationships we have forged. I look forward to embracing new opportunities and I would like to thank all of you for this incredible opportunity.”
Leonard Lee, Chair of the SCRD Board, thanked McKinley for his work over the past four-and-a-half years.
Tina Perreault, GM of Corporate Services and CFO will fill in as CAO until the Board meets on September 12.
The Board is expected to appoint an interim CAO and then begin the process of finding a new CAO to replace McKinley, who held the position since January 6, 2020.
