Nanaimo RCMP say they’re looking for more information after they received complaints of a sexual assault on a BC Transit bus.
According to police, the incident occurred on July 11, between 5:10 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on the number 40 bus after a man sat down beside a young person and made inappropriate gestures while riding the bus.
“An unknown male sat beside them, rubbed against them with his arm, and slid his hand down their leg,” police say in a media release.
RCMP say the encounter stopped shortly after and the man got off the bus at the 5th Street and Shepherd bus stop.
The suspect is described as a Caucasian man in his late 20s to mid 30s, with brown hair, brown beard, black glasses, and bright blue eyes.
He was last seen wearing black shorts, black flip-flops, and a button-up white and orange shirt.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Nanaimo RCMP’s non-emergency line at 250-754-2345.
