Church Road Well Field to be Brought Online

The Sunshine Coast Regional District is making preparations to have the Church Road Well Field supplement the water supply this summer.

The work is part of the drought preparations within the SCRD.

The regional district says the well field is now fully operational and can provide 4.6 million litres of water, nearly equivalent to what is needed to fill two Olympic sized swimming pools, to the residents of the Chapman Water System.

Part of the work will be installing a purpose-built chemical storage container that will be temporarily located at the Church Road Well Field Water Treatment Plant.

The SCRD says the storage container has been the subject of some community concern, and the district has been answering questions from the public and had staff go door to door in the area to speak with residents and provide accurate information.
