A body found at Neck Point Beach has been identified and Nanaimo RCMP say they are continuing their investigation along with the BC Coroner’s Service.
Police confirmed it was Ryan Pratt, 35, who was reported missing by his friends on December 2.
Police say the body was found around 10 a.m. on Wednesday, and at that time it was impossible to make an identification. They add after discovering several tattoos on the remains they were determined it was a 35-year-old man who was reported missing on Dec. 2.
At the time Pratt was reported missing, the 35-year-old man was living on his sailboat near Hammond Bay Road, but searchers were unable to locate him.
RCMP say the family has been notified.
