Simons talking to Ferries on avoiding repeats of summer issues

As BC Ferries switches to the “shoulder season” schedules for the Sunshine Coast and Nanaimo routes, Powell River Sunshine Coast MLA Nicholas Simons is hoping there won’t be a repeat of some things he saw over the summer.
Simons says he’s worried about an impact on tourist traffic because of the discount Ferries was offering on over-size vehicle — only on routes to the Island.
Simons also met with officials from BC Ferries last week over the mid-day gap left by sailing cuts on the Earls Cove – Saltery Bay route.  It led to huge back-ups at Earls Cove, because traffic moving up the Sunshine Coast from Langdale didn’t link up with a ferry.

Construction underway for Nanaimo cancer centre
