Sunshine Coast RCMP Looking for Jesse Farrand

Sunshine Coast RCMP is looking for your help in finding a kayaker who went missing earlier this week.

Jesse Farrand had been driving an older model blue Dodge 3500, it was parked at the Roberts Creek beach parking lot, and there were two kayaks before he headed to the water.

Constable Karen Whitby explains what the RCMP knows at this point.

“On Monday between 4 and 6 pm Mr. Farrand went kayaking down in Roberts Creek, he entered the beach at the bottom of Roberts Creek Road,” said Whitby. “He parked his truck there, he had two kayaks in the back and took one off into the water and went kayaking.”

Whitby continued, “We’ve had no contact with him since that time.”

Police are asking for any information about Farrand or his blue breeze model kayaks.

Whitby said many resources have been deployed to try and find this man.

“We’ve got search and rescue out looking for him (yesterday and today) and we’re just asking anyone with beachfront property to check their beach to see if a kayak has washed up, or if anyone has any information and saw him at Roberts Creek or in the water.”

You can call the Sunshine Coast RCMP detachment at 604-885-2266 if you have any information relating to this case.
