Nanaimo Police have sent a 38-year-old prolific offender packing.
The man was arrested in possession of a stolen bait bike in the Harbour City last Thursday in the vicinity of Cypress Street.
At the time of his arrest, the suspect was the subject of eleven arrest warrants throughout Alberta and was also before the courts in that province, for several violent offences.
Following a Judicial Bail Hearing, the suspect was issued a date to appear in court and was released with the condition that he was not to be on Vancouver Island unless it is for court purposes.
Officers drove the accused to the Departure Bay Ferry terminal, purchased a walk-on ticket for him and waved him goodbye.
