The most recent happened last night (Thurs).
Gibsons Fire Chief, Rob Michael said fire crews were called to a structure fire in the 1100 block of Chaster Road around 6:30.
“The fire was a mobile home with some additions. It was fully involved upon arrival. The fire was fully extinguished and overhauled within three hours and was contained to the property of origin.”
No one was hurt, the trailer was destroyed and Michael said they don’t know the cause of the fire yet.
Michael wants people to know it’s important to move away from the fire when crews arrive so they can do their work.
“It’s important for residents and bystanders to clear the area when instructed by the fire department for their safety. We had RCMP assistance on this call.”
There were three other fires on the lower Sunshine Coast this week.
Tuesday night there was a house fire in the 2700 block of Lower Road in Roberts Creek.
No one was hurt and there’s no word on the cause.
The other two fires did not involve structures and are reported to be the result of controlled burns that got away.
One was in the Middle Point Road area and the other was near Smuggler Cove Marine Provincial Park.
