Tickets are now on sale for the Dad and Me Dance on the Sunshine Coast.
RCMP Staff Sargent Poppy Hallam is the latest Rotarian and part of the Rotary Club of Sunshine Coast – Sechelt.
She’s heading up the communications for the event and says the popular dance, which has grown to become the social event of the year on the Coast, will likely be sold out.
The girls’ tickets are 10 dollars each and the tickets for the men are 15 dollars and can be purchased at IGA in Gibsons and Wilsons Creek and at the Sunshine Coast Credit Union both in Sechelt and Gibsons.
Tickets will not be sold at the door.
The party dance night is for girls ages 5 to 13 and the significant man in their lives, such as their father, grandfather, another male relative, or neighbour.
The Dad and Me event started in 1999 with about 50 people in attendance and has grown to a capacity crowd of 400 participants in the past several years.
The music is provided by Much Video Dance, which features a full-screen video and light display, and is a favourite of the girls and their escorts.
Rotary volunteers will host a barbecue and will be selling candy bags and glow sticks, and for the men, there are a series of 50/50 draws with prizes from local merchants.
This years’ Dad and Me dance will be on Tuesday, May 14th in the Chatelech Secondary School gym from 6 to 9 p.m.
