The lower Sunshine Coast has snagged some provincial funding from the Rural Dividend Program.
The Community Futures Sunshine Coast, the District of Sechelt and Tla’amin First Nation are the recipients.
Community Futures Sunshine Coast is being awarded more than 85,000 dollars to support the design and planning for an integrated community resource lab that will lead to increased economic viability in the community.
District of Sechelt is getting better than 25,000 dollars to complete the remaining portion of the Suncoaster Trail that connects Sechelt Airport and Roberts Creek.
Tla’amin First Nation snagged close to 30,000 dollars to upgrade the Tla’amin Trails system by adding interpretive signage, a suspension bridge and a five-kilometre link to the Sunshine Coast Trail.
The Rural Dividend Program aims to support and diversify rural communities throughout the province.
