The Sunshine Coast Sea Cavalcade Society Board has chosen to discontinue the popular event.
According to the Society, there are no longer the skilled, dedicated volunteers coming on board to learn and complete the many tasks that have to be done to stage the annual event.
The Society says the liabilities cannot be covered and the activities cannot be managed without essential people to assume the necessary roles that the festival requires.
The organization says they were ready to train a new team, but no one volunteered.
The Festival has been operating on the Sunshine Coast for 50 years.
