Ferry service to resume on the Sunshine Coast

The Queen of Surrey will be out of service until further notice.

That’s after the vessel came into contact with the berthing structure at Langdale this (Tues) morning causing damage to the vessel and terminal marine structures.

Up to 250 passengers were stranded on the Queen of Surrey for 9 hours and were supplied with coffee and food while they waited for the situation to unfold.

Passengers say they were given regular updates on what was happening through the P.A. system during their ordeal.

Inspections have been conducted by regulatory agencies and BC Ferries has redeployed the Queen of Coquitlam from its temporary reassignment on the Duke Point to Tsawwassen route to service the Langdale to Horseshoe Bay route.
