The Sunshine Coast Regional Economic Development Organization is expanding the FUSE Community Workhub.
Chris Hergesheimer said the FUSE offices provide telecommuters, digital nomads, and self-employed contractors, office space to work out of for a monthly fee.
Hergesheimer said they’ve already got an office set up in Gibsons and they’ll be expanding to Sechelt and Madeira Park.
“We took the plunge and did a lot of planning and engagement with partners about what would work and some forecasting and decided to make the expansion into Sechelt and Pender Harbour and provide the network fully, up and down the Coast so that it didn’t become Gibsons centric. Our mandate is to be a regional organization and we wanted to provide those services all up and down the Coast.”
The Sechelt facility will be located in Teredo Square and will be opening Monday.
The opening party goes from 7 to 8:30 in the evening but from 10 to 3 people are being invited to come to try it out for free and see if it’s a space they might like to use.
The Madeira Park office will be in the Harbour Spirit building and will open around the end of April.
At the same time, Hergesheimer said they’ve already grown out of the Gibsons location that opened last Summer and so they’ll be moving that one to a building on North Fletcher that used to be home to the Vancouver Coastal Health offices.
That will be done in about two months’ time.
