Upgrades coming to local schools

School districts throughout the province are getting some funding for facility and bus upgrades.

With 600,000 dollars the Sunshine Coast School District will be upgrading the dust collection systems at both Chatelech Secondary and Elphinstone Secondary.

A little better than one point 1-6 million dollars will see boiler upgrades at Cinnabar Elementary, H-VAC upgrades at Park Avenue Elementary and one new bus for the Nanaimo-Ladysmith School District.

The Qualicum School District is getting one point 2 million dollars for school upgrades and three new buses.

Sheila Malcolmson, MLA for Nanaimo says the investments mean students will be able to learn in safe and comfortable classrooms.
