Workshop for non-profit arts groups goes Friday

There are as many as 30 non-profit arts groups on the lower Sunshine Coast.

They include the organizations that host the Festival of the Written Arts and the Art Crawl every year along with the Sunshine Coast Arts Council, the Sunshine Coast Museum and Archives and the Spinners’ and Weavers’ Guild.

Sechelt’s Arts, Culture and Communications Coordinator, Siobhan Smith said an Arts Forum, that goes Friday, will feature a number of workshops of interest to the people on the boards of the organizations, paid staff and even volunteers.

These workshops will cover topics such as board governance, contracts, non-profit insurance, fundraising, and sponsorship and the forum will be led by Patricia Hunstman.

She works with Arts B.C. and has a background in arts management and cultural planning.

The forum will also allow for some networking during a round table allowing participants to share stories, knowledge, and ideas to help the Coast’s cultural sector to develop, diversify and expand.

If you want to register to attend, you can find a link to the event at https://artsbc.org/community-cultural-forums/
