Teen sentenced in Sechelt

A teen facing charges after pointing a handgun at a group of students has been sentenced.

The 18-year-old was charged with assault with a weapon, possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose and use of an imitation firearm for committing an indictable offense.

He was sentenced to just over 300 days in jail and will be banned for life from owning or possessing firearms.

The teen was charged after he produced a handgun and pointed it at a group of Chatelech High School students at the nearby skate park back in mid-January.
