Children's ministry called in after impaired driving case on Sunshine Coast

RCMP on the Sunshine Coast say they’re turning a recent impaired driving case over to the Ministry of Children and Family Services.

Police say they had a call May 5th about two possibly drunk women causing a disturbance at the Langdale Ferry terminal, then driving off.

RCMP pulled them over on Highway 101 just outside of Gibsons a short time later after noticing the car swerving.

There was a 10 year old in the car, and police say they found out the women were at the ferry terminal to drop off a second child, a 9 year old.

The driver was given a 90 day suspension and her car was impounded for 30 days.
