The president of the Vancouver Island Real Estate Board says new rules for realtors are leaving some buyers scratching their heads.
Don McClintock says two weeks ago the rules changed for realtors and the dual agency is gone.
He says that means, if a buyer calls a listing agent, the only thing they can share is information about the property and they have to warn the buyer not to share any details about their motivations for getting information about the house.
Gordon Clayton of Re/Max Oceanview Realty in Sechelt suggested, prior to the implementation of the new rules, it will be a far less pleasant experience for everyone.
