A number of positions at School District 46 went unfilled this year.
SD 46 Secretary-Treasurer Nic Weswick says they expect to have an operating surplus as a result of the staffing shortfalls.
Weswick says a majority of their casual and temporary pool have gotten jobs and moved on but there are other challenges too.
Weswick says they expect to have some results over the summer and they will announce the bottom line surplus in September along with their financial results.
