More than $150 thousand has been spent at Armours Beach over the last year and it’s set to reopen this week.
Gibsons’ Director of Engineering Dave Newman says it’s a popular beach and the Town expects this reopening will make many residents happy.
Newman says their focus was to make it more accessible and family friendly. There are new picnic tables and washrooms.The second phase of the redevelopment project will begin around September.
The town is looking to reconstruct a shoreline retaining wall and make improvements in the swimming area.
