There has been an increase of cougar sightings in Lower Gibsons.
The BC Conservation Officer Service has been getting many calls from residents who have had their dogs attacked by cougars in that area.
Local Conservation Officer Dean Miller says the cougars haven’t shown aggression to people but you should still be cautious.
Miller says between every 3 to 5 years we get a wolf pack coming into the coast and this year, there have been sightings up by the Pender Harbour area.
