Gospel Rock development gets first bylaw reading

The Gospel Rock development is getting its first green light from the town of Gibsons.

The project that would bring 360 new residential units to the community got its first bylaw reading at council.

Councilor Charlene Sanjenko says she knows some residents are opposed to the proposal but believes this a step in the right direction.

Council members were presented with a petition of 200 plus signatures from residents who are opposed to the proposal.

One of the residents, Susan Rule says the increased traffic and potential for pollution is concerning to Elphinstone residents.
