School District 46 is getting more than $2.5 million in provincial funding for facility maintenance and upgrades.
Powell River-Sunshine Coast MLA Nic Simons says the NDP government wants to make education a top priority again and this is proof of that.
The grant Simons is referring to is the Annual Facilities Grant, a grant that goes towards routine school maintenance.
More than $950 thousand will be side aside for that grant, and $1.5 million will be used for mechanical upgrades at Cedar Grove Elementary and Roberts Creek Elementary.
