Many people on the Sunshine Coast and Vancouver Island are waking up without power this morning.
Heavy winds are to blame and BC Hydro will be out trying to address those outages and downed power lines today.
The heavy winds are expected to die down later today.
The Queen of Cowichan that was supposed to go from Departure Bay to Horse Bay at 6:15 and then come back at 8:25 was cancelled by BC Ferries.
As was the Queen of Coquitlam that was supposed to leave from Horseshoe Bay at 6:15 and return from Departure Bay at 8:25.
Highway 101, south of Wilde Road in Powell River is currently closed, both directions due to a fallen tree.
No alternate route is available and crews have been on the scene since 6 this morning.
No estimated time has been given on when the highway will be back to normal.
