There is a strong push right now to add residential sprinklers to homes as it is believed that the modern furniture and the material being used to build homes burn a lot quicker.
Cody Robinson with the Gibsons Fire Department says with that factor, the time you have to get out from a fire has drastically diminished over the last 30 years.
Robinson says there is a common misconception where people believe that if one sprinkler goes off, all the other one do, but that’s simply not the case.
