The Elphinstone Focus Logging group on the Sunshine Coast is looking to find other ways of preventing logging from happening in the Chanterelle Forest.
The interim injunction that was in place has been officially lifted by the BC supreme court as of yesterday (Monday) afternoon.
Ross Muirhead with ELF says they were essentially asked to come up with $216 000 for a delayed re-entry cost to Sunshine Coast Community Forest.
Muirhead says they’ve requested the court to have a judicial review on how Sunshine Coast Community Forest operates and they’re waiting to hear back about a court date.
In the meantime, ELF will also reach out to the District of Sechelt to see if there’s interest to intervene and to put a stop work order until the judicial review is heard.
Sunshine Coast Community Forest was not available for an immediate comment.
