BC looks to improve cancer health care for Indigenous communities

The province is looking to improve the cancer health outcomes of the Indigenous people.

Some of the strategies will include developing partnerships between the health system and Indigenous communities to prevent cancer before it starts.

Adrian Dix, Health Minister says this will be the first strategy of it’s kind in Canada and he hopes others will follow suit.

Other parts of the strategy include improving the knowledge of Indigenous cancer experiences, promoting cultural safety in cancer care services and supporting Indigenous cancer survivors
