The BC Chamber of Commerce is asking the province to slow down with the $15 an hour minimum wage.
The same message has been echoed locally and Theressa  Logan, Executive Director of the Sechelt Chamber of Commerce says a quick jump would have a negative impact on local businesses.
Logan says they would even encourage an eight-year wait before the minimum wage is increased to $15 an hour. She says significant minimum wage hikes put a significant pressure businesses’ bottom line which can result in people losing their jobs.
