A workshop meant to shed some light on the new B.C. Water Sustainability Act goes in Parksville, starting at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 9.
Provincial water allocation staff will answer questions and present cases centered around using the B.C. Agricultural Water Calculator.
This calculator helps farmers by determining water demand and Julie Pisani with the Regional District of Nanaimo says time is of the essence to get a deal on the license application.
Pisani says this is a very important meeting for farmers.
Under the new B.C. Water Sustainability Act, non-domestic groundwater users will require a license.
The new legislation takes effect on January 1, 2018.
If you’re planning to attend, R.S.V.P. by emailing [email protected] before Monday, November 6.
