The Sunshine Coast Affordable Housing Society and the Town of Gibson’s are looking at whether a 40-unit development would be possible on the Charmin Creek Lands.
Matt Thompson says if it goes forward, the rentals would be targeted toward independent seniors, individuals, and young families.
He adds that if the project is feasible and works for the community, it would be a 40-unit development with some rentals that would be available for below market prices.
The municipality and the society are also looking to a pilot project on Franklin Road. The idea is to turn two units into an affordable rental place.
