The fire up by Porpoise Bay is contained now.
Trevor Pike Chief of the Sechelt Fire Department says they got the call (tues) last night and when they showed up a big pile of recyclable debris near the Direct Disposal facility was fully involved.
The fire was quite visible as the pile was about 150 feet wide and about 35 feet high.
No one was injured and Direct Disposal didn’t suffer any major damages.
Pike says anytime you a significant fire during this time of the year it’s always a concern and in this case, this was a best case scenario for them.
