High water use from the Sunshine Coast

The stats are out and Sunshine Coast Regional District customers used 5.6 billion litres of water last year.

That works out to be about 495 litres per household, per day.

Shane Walkey says water usage has always been relatively high on the Sunshine Coast.

Walkey is encouraging residents to be conservative with water use this year.

In comparison to the Cowichan Bay, residents over there used the least amount of water on a per capita basis last year and each person used about 211 litres per day.
