Three contenders for passenger ferry service in Nanaimo

It could be September before the technical advisory group, looking into passenger ferry service between Nanaimo and Vancouver, emerge with a plan to pursue a single operator for the service.
Nanaimo City councillor Bill Bestwick says an expression of interest for such a service closed on Tuesday and there were three interested parties….
Bernie Dumas with the Nanaimo Port Authority says there’s been passenger ferry service between the two cities in the past that failed for a number of reasons…..
The operators that responded to the expression of interest are Island Ferry Services Limited, Clipper Navigation and Riverside Marine.
