$3.9 million worth of provincial and federal grants has been given to the Sunshine Coast Regional District.
Tina Perreault, treasurer for SCRD says thanks to those grants, tax payers will save money, and projects will be done sooner.
$3.4 million will go towards the Universal Metering Program in rural areas and Perreault explains what other projects will benefit from the grants.
The grants are hoping to help with improving infrastructure and local community services.
Perreault says even though it’s early, she admits it has been easier to get grants this year, compared to last.
