Donations pouring into Go Fund Me campaign for Sunshine Coast emergency shelter after homeless man’s death

A Sunshine Coast woman heartbroken on hearing a homeless man died outdoors in Gibsons on a night there were no shelter beds open, has launched a fundraising effort.

The region’s only shelter is an Extreme Weather Emergency Shelter, which only gets money from BC Housing to open some nights.

And this year they lost a federal grant that was helping them open more, so Paula Howley wants to make that up through a Go Fund Me Campaign.

Howley says the community groups that operate the shelter at St. Hilda’s Church in Sechelt are welcoming the campaign.
