Nanaimo RCMP are investigating an armed robbery involving a man carrying a large knife.
It happened on Sunday at 7:52pm at the James General Store at 600 Victoria Rd.
A suspect brandishing a large knife or machete grabbed a handful of cash from the till before running away.
No one was injured in the incident. Officers were on scene within minutes but were unable to track the suspect.
The suspect was possibly white, 6’3″, in his mid-thirties with a muscular build. He was wearing a grey scarf over his face, dark sunglasses, gloves, a dark puffy jacket, dark pants, and a dark toque.
Investigators are reviewing surveillance footage of the incident.
