The Sunshine Coast’s Housing Committee has cleared a big hurdle on the way to setting up a land trust, and actually creating some affordable housing.
Coordinator Matt Thomson told Gibsons Council recently that they’ve got their incorporation finalized.
Thomson says the next big step is completing a strategic plan – which should be done by the end of the month.
He says as far as what the housing projects might look like… cluster style developments, small houses, and something known as “mixed agriculture” for small scale tenant farmers are getting the most interest.
